Congratulations to the HOSS 2011 Champion Aaron Pierce.
Swanson Wins at Anderson Speedway and Pierce Crowned 2011 HOSS Champion
Joe Swanson did all he could to put the pressure on Aaron Pierce for the H.O.S.S. Championship at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, but Pierce was not going to be denied.
Swanson entered the final race of the 2011 season 20 points behind Pierce for the Hoosier Outlaw Winged Sprint Season. Swanson led the entire distance after starting on the front row as a result of the inversion.
Jimmy McCune moved through the field to finish second followed by Geoff Kaiser, Pierce and Chris Neuenschwander.
McCune has won the previous two races and moved into the second spot on lap 23 with a move in traffic to get underneath Neuenschwander coming off the fourth corner.
With his fourth place finish, Pierce secured the 2011 title.
“We had an awesome car,” he said following his run. “The car was really good tonight. We were running on the outside and it’s tough to pass up there. I ran over something and had a tire going down.”
It was a great night for Pierce at Anderson Speedway, scoring a clean sweep in the competition.
Pierce set a new track record during Herald Bulletin qualifications turning a lap at 10.211-seconds (88.14 mph), breaking the mark set on Oct. 30, 2010 by Charlie Schultz of 10.247-seconds (87.83 mph).

McCune Wins at Plymouth Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series event at Plymouth Speedway saw Jimmy McCune win. After a first lap yellow, which brought the field back out two by two, McCune took the lead with, fast qualifier Aaron Pierce challenging the whole way. It went thirty green, McCune came out the winner, with Pierce second, Jason Cox, Tim Cox, and Jim Sheets rounding out the top five. Heat race winners were Tim Cox, Geoff Kaiser, and McCune.

McCune Wins at Angola Motor Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series last appearance of the season at Angola Motor Speedway was Sunday. After a broken rearend on Saturday sent him home early from Baer Field, Jimmy McCune came out the winner. Aaron Pierce was second with Tim Cox third and Colin Cabre fourth and Chris Neuenschwander 5th. Heat race winners were Pierce, Jason Cox, and Chris Neuenschwander. Full results to follow on Monday.
Pierce Wins Baer Field Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series opened the Labor Day weekend at Baer Field Speedway on Saturday. Fast Qualifier, Aaron Pierce, took the win. Tyler Dunn led the field to the green. Chris Neuenschwander took over the lead on lap two. Pierce took the lead on lap 8. Neunscwander retained 2nd, Denny England, Tim Cox, and Jason Cox rounding out the top five. Heat race winners were Pierce, Jim Sheets, and Neuenschwander. Full results to follow.
Angola Motor Speedway is set for today. Pits Open at 1, Hot Laps at 3, Qualifying at 5 and racing at 7.
2048 right rears still in use for these 2 shows. The new M40 Right rears will start being used the September 10 at Plymouth.
Kaiser Wins at Illiana Motor Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series annual event at Illiana Motor Speedways 11th Race Fest on Saturday night saw Geoff Kaiser win in the Swanson owned 7s. The feature lined up after the drivers went through the crowd to toss out Frisbees that were sponsored by Auto Value Part Stores. Front row of the feature was Kevin Feeny and Bill Tyler. Feeny took the lead on the start with Kaiser taking over the point shortly after. Kaiser was leading the way with Feeny, Tyler, Jim Swain and fast qualifier Joe Swanson setting up the front five. Swanson worked his through to take over 2nd on lap 8. Denny England worked his way around to end up 3rd, Swain was 4th and Feeny was 5th. The race was fast only taking 8:46 to complete 30 laps. Cox Wins The “Bill Lipke Memorial” at Baer Field Speedway
Tim Cox, of Park City, Illinois, won the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series event held at Baer Field Speedway Saturday night. Cox’s son Jason set fast time and drew an 8 for inversion, which put Colin Cabre on the pole for the feature with Denny England on the outside. Cabre took the initial lead with England and Hank Lower following. Cox worked his way up to take the lead on lap 8. England and Aaron Pierce were chasing him down. Pierce took over 2nd for a few laps until a spin in lapped traffic sets him back to the tail of the field. Jason Blonde worked his way up to third passing Jerry Caryer with a few laps left. The final five were T. Cox, England, Blonde, Pierce, and Caryer. The heat races were won by Sheets, Cabre, and T. Cox.

Cabre Wins at New Paris Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series annual event held at New Paris Speedway was Saturday night. Colin Cabre, of Thonotosassa, Florida, took the win. Cabre started on the outside of the front row with Mike Astrauskas on the pole. Cabre took the lead on the first circuit with Joe Swanson and Aaron Pierce following. Pierce moved into second on lap 12. Fast qualifier Jeff Bloom was 4th and Jason Cox rounded out the top five. Heat race winners were Tom Tolbert, Aaron Pierce, and Colin Cabre.

Cox Wins the “Rain Out” at Baer field Speedway
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series weathered the threats of rain all day at Baer Field Speedway. Tim Cox came home the winner. Fast qualifier, Aaron Pierce, drew an eight for an inversion which put Mike Ling on the pole. Jason Cox took the early lead with his dad trying to get around Ling. Tim passed Ling on lap 4 to work his way around Jason taking over the lead on lap 8. Jason left the field shortly after due to a mechanical issue. Cox continued with the lead with Ling following, Joe Swanson, Denny England, and Jim Swain rounded out the top five. Heat race winners were Tim Cox, and Jim Swain.
Pierce Wins at Auto City
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series first event of the season held at Auto City Speedway, was Saturday night. Aaron Pierce came home the winner. Charlie Schultz captured the Rose Calabrase Fast qualifier award with a new track record time of 12.58. Schultz drew a 6 for inversion which put Pierce on the pole with Jason Cox taking up the outside front row. Cox went a off the backstretch in lap three and then rejoined the field. Pierce was out front with Billy Wease and Schultz moving up. Schultz took over second on lap 13. A yellow on lap 22, lined up the field for an 8 lap dash to the end. The top five were Pierce, Schultz, Wease, Tim Cox, and Joe Swanson. The heat race winners were Tom Tolbert, Jimmy McCune, and Pierce. Full results will be posted Monday at hossracing.com

2011 HOSS Schedule
The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series is pleased to announce our 2011 schedule.
We will start off the season April 30th at Auto City Speedway in Flint, Michigan. Baer Field Speedway will be up next and our host for 4 events, May 14th, June 24th, July 23rd, and September 3. Angola Motor Speedway is returning with two events May 21st and the traditional Labor Day weekend Sunday September 4th. Plymouth Speedway is hosting us on a Friday evening June 10th. Anderson Speedway is next up on June 18th. New Paris Speedway is July 9th. And Illiana Motor Speedway is August 6th for their annual racefest. There are some TBA’s on the schedule we are trying to fill. As always the Schedule is tentative and subject to change.
