Cox Wins Rain Delayed Feature at New Paris Speedway

The Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series first event of the year turned a little soggy as after two rain delays Tim Cox of Park City, IL comes out to win the feature, he was followed by Hank Lower, Ron Koehler, Jason Fuller, and Jerry Caryer. Heat winners were Jonathan Kettlewell, Ron Koehler, and Jason Fuller.

            The weather looked great for qualifying with Cox turning the fastest time of 11.867.  Greg Wheeler was next, with Jason Fuller, Geoff Kaiser and Dale Wood being the quick five for the night.

            As the first Heat was pushed off the light rain came for the first delay, so after drying the track they were pushed off again to yet again more rain.  Finally, due to the perseverance of the New Paris Speedway Officials the first heat was on the track at about 10pm.  Chris Jagger and Chad Delegrange led the way with Delegrange in the lead until Kettlewell takes the point on lap seven.  Kettlewell is followed by Delegrange and Cox.

            Tom Geren and Chad Levingston lead the pack for the second heat.  Levingston quickly leads the field until Ron Koehler works his way up from the inversion to take the lead on lap four when Todd Lehr tries out the turn four wall and ends his night.  Ron Koehler takes the win with Greg Wheeler and Levingston close behind.

            Jerry Caryer and Hank Lower head up the last heat.  Jason Fuller coming from 4th starting spot to lead all 8 laps.  He is followed by Sam Davis and Lower.

            The Feature is pushed off with Sam Davis and Dale Wood in the front row.  The two tangle on the first lap causing a red flag when Davis ends up on his side.  With a full restart, we have a new front row with Kaiser and Fuller.  Kaiser leads the way until he spins on lap 16 and second place Wheeler brakes to avoid him with a bump to end Wheeler’s night.  Kaiser is pushed back off to the back of the field and Cox takes over the lead to finish up the first feature winner of the year.  Hank Lower, Ron Koehler, Jason Fuller, and Jerry Caryer round out the top five.
